Women's Golf Finishes Second at Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate

PALO ALTO, Calif. ?- The Arizona women’s golf team finished second at the Stanford Pepsi Invitational on Sunday with final round score of 291 (+7).  Three Arizona golfers claimed a top ten finish to lead the way for the Wildcats.

 

The Wildcats finished five strokes behind Vanderbilt who claimed the title with a tournament total of 855 (+3).

 

Junior Alison Walshe tied for first, her second first place finish so far this season, after carding a tournament total of six-under 207.  Walshe had four birdies in the final round to give her a two-under 69 total in the final round, securing the first place tie.

 

Sophomore Adriana Zwanck finished the tournament with a strong final round, carding a two-under 69 to match Walshe’s final round score, also gathering four birdies.  The Madrid, Spain, native finished the tournament with a five under 208.

 

Junior Mary Jacobs also placed in the top ten, completing the tournament in a tie for 8th place.  Jacobs totaled an even 213 after 54 holes of play.

 

Sophomore Amanda Wilson finished in 62nd after shooting an 85 (+14) in the final round of the tournament.  The Hilo, Hawaii, product totaled 235 (+22) through the three rounds of the tournament.

 

Freshman Brittany Benvenuto tied for 73rd with a tournament total of 244 (+31) in her first college tournament.
