WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona sophomore golfer Erica Blasberg has been named to the All-Pac-10 First Team by conference officials Thursday. Wildcat sophomores Lani Elston and Cassandra Kirkland were named Honorable Mention on the All-Conference team.
Blasberg helped Arizona to a third place finish at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships, held earlier this week at Saticoy Country Club in Somis, Calif. Blasberg finished third overall, carding a 5-over-par 221.
The 5-6, sophomore from Corona, Calif., won three consecutive tournaments during the fall season. Additionally, Blasberg placed seven times among the top-10 and hit below-or-even-to-par 12 times during the season.
Blasberg's inclusion on the All-Pac-10 First Team marks the ninth straight year an Arizona women's golfer has received the honor.
Elston, playing her first season as a Wildcat after transferring from the University of Idaho, tied for fifth at the 2004 Pac-10 Championship to earn her best finish of the season. The sophomore from Spokane, Wash. has a stroke average of 76.37. Kirkland tied for 14th at the 2004 Pac-10 Championship. The sophomore from Saint-Nom-La-Breteche, France finished twice within the top-10 and twice within the top-20 and holds a stroke average of 76.41.
