TUCSON, Ariz. ?- The Arizona softball team defeated UA Alumni, 5-1, in the annual Alumni Game on Saturday.

The alumni team got off to a quick start when Lindsey Collins led off the second inning with a home run, giving the former Wildcats a 1-0 lead over their current counterparts.  Taryne Mowatt, who gave up the homer to Collins, did not surrender another hit in four innings of work.

The 2007 Wildcats got on the board with a four-run rally in the third inning.  K’Lee Arredondo had a two-run double to left field, scoring Adrienne Acton and Caitlin Lowe.  After Arredondo scored on a Chelsie Mesa fielder’s choice, Sarah Akamine singled home Kristie Fox to put the Wildcats up 4-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Callista Balko led off the inning with a solo home run that proved to be the last run for either team.

Amanda Williams threw three shutout innings of relief, surrendering only a single to Leneah Manuma.
