TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcat women's golf team finished the Pac-12/SEC Challenge with a ninth-place finish in the team race. The three-round event was played at Holston Hills Country Club (par 72, 6,447 yards) in Knoxville, Tenn.
No. 22 Arizona collected a three-day total of 894 (+30) for ninth place. UA was tied for sixth after day one, fell to 12th on day two and moved back up to ninth on the final day of play. The Wildcats finished ahead of No. 8 Arizona State (t10th), No. 9 Washington (t10th), No. 3 Oregon (12th), No. 4 LSU (15th) and No. 20 California (16th).
No. 1 UCLA finished second with an 860 (+5). No. 6 Alabama won the team event with a score of 865 (+1). No. 2 Auburn rounded out the top three with an 879 (+15). Stephanie Meadow of Alabama won the individual title with a 211 (-5).
Senior Margarita Ramos was Arizona's top golfer in a six-way tie for 24th place. She carded rounds of 73, 76 and 71 for a total of 220 (+4). Junior Kyndall Ardoin finished in a four-way tie for 30th. She shot rounds of 73, 76 and 72 for a score of 221 (+5).
Seniors Nikki Koller and Isabelle Boineau finished in a nine-way tie for 70th with a combined score of 230 (+14). Boineau had rounds of 77, 75 and 78. Koller shot 73, 76 and 71. Freshman Paige Spiranac finished in a three-way tie for 95th. She carded rounds of 83, 78 and 74 for a total of 235 (+19).
Arizona will compete next at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, in Austin, Texas, Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
