Long Beach, Calif. ?- The No. 8 Arizona men’s swim team completed the first two events of the 2005 Pac-10 Championships Wednesday evening at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool. The Wildcats are currently tied with No. 3 Cal for second place with 66 points.

The 200-yard medley relay team composed of freshman Gerhard Zandberg, juniors Dave Rollins, Lyndon Ferns and Simon Burnett finished third with a time of 1:26.08, which is also an ?'A’ qualifying time for the NCAA Championships.

In the 800-yard free relay, Ferns, junior Tyler DeBerry, sophomore Adam Ritter and Burnett finished second with a time of 6:23.91, which was good enough to beat the previous Pac-10 meet record, however Stanford took first-pace in the relay with a time of 6:18.17, setting a new Pac-10 record and Pac-10 meet record.
