TUCSON, Ariz. - Tarquin MacManus carded a 75 (+4) in the final round of the Western Refining All-America Classic to drop himself into a tie for 23rd.
Alabama's Hunter Hamrick and Oklahoma State's Morgan Hoffmann each carded rounds of 69 (-2) in the third round, tying them at the top of the leader board at eleven under. The tie was settled by a playoff, which was won in one hole by Hamrick. Day one leader Dustin Garza of Wichita State finished third on a day where only five of the 32 golfers shot rounds under par in the third round.
The Western Refining All-America Classic was contested at the El Paso Country Club, a par 71, 6,842 yard course.
The event concluded the fall portion of the season for the Cats. Over the four events, Arizona averaged a finish of over eighth place. As a team, the Wildcats shot under par in only three of the twelve rounds. The Cats will look to improve on its tough fall outing in the spring, where it will start on a familiar course. The Wildcats will begin their spring schedule with the Arizona Intercollegiate, contested at Arizona's practice course, Arizona National. The Arizona Intercollegiate will be held February 1 and 2, 2010.
