LAS VEGAS, Nev. ?C The Arizona womenˇ?s golf team is currently in second place following two rounds of play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Las Vegas, Nev.? The Wildcats carded an even-par 288 on Tuesday to bring their score to 575 (-1) after 36 holes.? The University of Denver took over the lead after carding a three-under 285 in the second round.

Denverˇ?s Katie Kemper remained in the lead with a score of 136 (-8).

For the Wildcats, freshman Alejandra Llaneza carded a two-under 70 to stand in a tie for second place heading into tomorrowˇ?s final round.? The Mexico City, Mexico, native is only three strokes behind the individual leader.

Senior Alison Walshe moved into fourth place following strong play in the second round, highlighted by five birdies factoring into her second round score of 69 (-3).

Junior Adriana Zwanck is tied for 15th place with a score of 147 (+3).? Three strokes behind is senior Mary Jacobs, who is currently tied for 37th place after carding a four-over 76 in the second round to bring her score to 150 (+6) after two rounds of play.

Junior Amanda Wilson is also tied for 37th place with a score of 150 (+6).

Competing as an individual for the Wildcats is sophomore Brittany Benvenuto, who is currently tied for 69th place heading into the final round.

The tournament continues tomorrow, with a final round tee time scheduled for 8:00am MST.
