Rutledge, DaLee Lead Cats to Sweep of California

BERKELEY, Calif.Freshman Lisa Rutledge and junior Marisa DaLee combined for 30 of Arizona's 45 kills, leading the 18th-ranked Cats to a 15-10, 15-3, 15-10 sweep of California in Berkeley Saturday night.

Arizona improved to 12-5 on the year with the win, 6-3 in the Pac-10, tied for third at the halfway mark of the league's season. The Cats have never finished better than fourth in the conference. Cal fell to 7-10 and 3-6.

Rutledge and DaLee out-hit California, 30 kills to 25. The Cats held the Bears to an .029 hitting percentage, the lowest mark by an Arizona opponent this season. Sophomore Dana Burkholder led all players in both assists (31) and digs (11).

Arizona returns to action Thursday, Oct. 21, when the Cats play host to No. 17 Southern California at 7 p.m. at the McKale Center.
