TUCSON, Ariz. - The third and final day of the Wildcat Diving Invitational finished this afternoon with both ASU's Olympians Riley McCormick and Elina Eggers taking first place in the men's and women's platform finals.

"This was a great meet for us in terms of this time of year, since we're all at the end of the first third of the season," said Head Coach Michele Mitchell. "There's nothing like competition to help an athlete recognize his strengths and weaknesses."

Wildcats Matt McCahill and Cody Montgomery both placed in the men's platform finals. McCahill placed fourth with a score of 274.65 and Montgomery came in fifth with his score of 257.75.

For the women, Arizona's Ashley Herrera placed seventh with a score of 204.20. Ainsley Oliver had a total score of 174.60 which put her in twelfth place.

Ben Grado injured his ankle in yesterday's three meter event and did not compete on the platforms today.

"It was great to be in our own facility and have people come to us from all over the nation," said Mitchell. "This meet was a fantastic barometer to see where each diver is individually and I'm proud of it."

The Wildcats will compete next Dec. 3-5 in the Texas Invitational.
