TUCSON – University of Arizona Wildcat senior women’s golfer Margarita Ramos has finished three rounds of play at the NCAA Championships and stands in a four-way tie for 50th place heading into Friday’s final round. Held Tuesday-Friday, May 22-25 and hosted by Vanderbilt University, the four-round event is being held at Legends Club North Course in Franklin, Tenn. The course is a par 72 over 6,451 yards.
Ramos has fired rounds of 76, 72 and 77 for a total of 225 (+9), including five birdies over the course of the event. Ranked No. 85 in the current Golfstat rankings, she stands in a four-way tie for 50th place after three rounds of play.
No. 2 Alabama remains the leader in the team race, shooting a third round of 306 for a total of 877 (+13) and No. 3 USC sits in second place with an 879 (+15). No. 33 Purdue, No. 25 South Carolina and No. 27 Virginia share third place with scores of 883 (+19). No. 59 Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma and No. 5 Guila Molinaro of Arizona State share the lead in the individual race, both with scores of 212 (-4). Play for the individuals will resume at 12:45 p.m. CT on Friday for the final round of play.
