TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona women’s basketball team (19-11) has received a No. 9 seed in the Chattanooga Region and will face eighth-seeded Oklahoma (17-12) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament next Sunday, March 20, in Knoxville, Tenn.
"I’m very proud for our program and happy for our players, especially the seniors, to have another opportunity to play," Head Coach Joan Bonvicini said. "The selection committee really rewarded us for our non-conference schedule and for playing in a tough conference. The Pac-10 hasn’t had five teams in the tournament in a while."
Also included in the subregional are No. 1-seed Louisiana State (29-2) and 16th-seeded Stetson (17-13). All games will be played at Thompson-Boling Arena (25,000).
The second round game between the winners of Arizona/Oklahoma and LSU/Stetson Clara will be played Tuesday, March 22. Times of the first-round games will be released on Monday, while the second-round tip time will be announced at the conclusion of first-round action. All games will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

The winner of the subregional will advance to the Sweet 16 in Chattanooga, Tenn. All games in the Chattanooga Regional will be played at McKenzie Arena (12,000).
