ANAHEIM, Calif. - Fresh off last night's decisive NCAA Tournament win over Duke, the University of Arizona men's basketball team immediately began preparations for the West Regional final.
The fifth-seeded Wildcats (30-7) face third-seeded Connecticut (29-9) at 4:05 p.m. PDT Saturday with the winner advancing to the Final Four in Houston. The contest will be televised by CBS-TV.
The preparations begin almost as soon as the team returned to the hotel following its 93-77 win Thursday, but the glare of the media spotlight was evident upon arrival today at the Honda Center. UA went through a 1-hour and 50-minute media session and a 90-minute closed practice on the court.
"When you consider who we were playing (Thursday), under the pressure that that game has attached to it, it's really a great feeling looking back that we were able to play at that high of a level," said UA head coach Sean Miller. "The question becomes can we do it here on Saturday, because to beat UConn with how well they're playing, that's the type of team we have to bring to the game."
