Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's golf season, senior Alejandra Llaneza will keep a weekly blog about life and golf in the Pac-10. Check back for more updates from Ale!
Hello Wildcat Fans!
We finished the ASU tournament last weekend in third place. Even though we beat them, UCLA and USC still were ahead of us. There were many good things that we took from that week and that we will be working on since we are coming back to that same course for the Pac-10 Championships. Personally, I think every one of us knows what we need to do in order to improve our game. As a team I think it will be key to stay focused and to get in the mindset that we can do it again. We want to defend last year's title and believing that we can do it will be our most important attribute. Last week was also a good example that no matter how far from the leaders we are, a good team round can always bring us back to get the win. We might have fell too far from the leaders going into the last round but we realized that with some solid scores it was possible to reach them; and that will be very important to realize for postseason.
We will practice on course set-ups that resemble the ASU course and challenge us to get better these upcoming two weeks. Most importantly, we are going to give a hundred percent in each practice day because we are going to get that Pac-10 title again. And I will help our team in making sure that we are all in the right mindset and same frequency so that we can have the same team unity that lead us to take the win last year.
Follow us next week at golfstatresults.com :) Until next time!
