TEMPE, Ariz. ?- The University of Arizona women’s soccer team fell to in-state rival Arizona State, 4-0. The Sun Devils scored twice in the first half to take a commanding lead and they were able to continue to add on to their lead in the second half with two more goals.
The Sun Devils took the lead at the 24:06 mark. Carly Kallas found the net on a header after a free kick from 25 yards out by Kyleyn Felts. Arizona State added to its lead at the 36:37 mark when Lara Kezer found the back of the net. The goal started with a cross from Alissa Oldenkamp that was headed by Courtney Crane to Kezer.
In the second half, Arizona State widened its lead to three goals. Oldenkamp scored on an open net from 25 yards out. Oldenkamp scored again at the 83:30 mark. Dante Perea tipped the ball to Oldenkamp who then scored from 12 yards out.
Arizona was out shot 18 to 10 in the game. Chelsea McIntyre had two saves while allowing four Sun Devil goals.
Arizona, which fell to 8-8-2 on the season and 1-4-2 in the Pac-10, will wrap up conference play in Washington. The Wildcats will face Washington at 7 p.m. (PST) on Friday, Nov. 3. They will close out the Pac-10 at Washington State at 11 a.m. (PST) on Sunday, Nov. 5.
