Last Time Out: The Wildcats (193.350) kicked off their home schedule Friday with impressive victories over No. 6 Michigan State (191.975), No. 23 Missouri (191.700) and Illinois-Chicago (189.600). The Wildcats were led by individual titles on all four events.

The Wildcats entered the third rotation trailing Michigan State (144.825 ?- 144.700), but rallied back to claim the all-around team title behind solid floor performances. Sophomore Jamie Holton and senior Jamie Duce stared off with 9.775 and 9.875 marks respectively. Senior Katie Johnson capped off the night with a near perfect 9.9 score while earning herself the individual title in the event.

Johnson was also responsible for propelling the Wildcats to an early advantage with her individual title on the vault (9.850). Fellow senior Monica Bisordi (9.825) helped boost the Wildcats with her fourth-place finish on the vault.

Bisordi also claimed the individual title on the balance beam with a mark of 9.825, tying her with Missouri’s Lauren Schwartzman. Johnson again was a key member for the Wildcats as she posted a score of 9.700 on the beam.

Sophomore Aubrey Taylor captured her first individual title of the season with 9.750 score on the uneven parallel bars. The Wildcats also held the third and fourth positions in the event as freshman Karin Wurm (9.650) and senior’s Duce and Jamie Schell (9.625) rounded out the top five.

Bisordi’s all-around total of 38.625 was good enough for a third place finish behind Missouri’s Alisha Robinson (39.025) and Michigan State’s Kristen Coleman (38.700).

The Rankings:  The Wildcats will enter competition this week unranked for the first time in 49 consecutive polls. The last time the Wildcats were not ranked was during the week of February 19, 2001. Arizona began the season ranked No. 13 in the preseason coaches poll, but slipped to No. 21 last week after a low scoring, fourth-place finish at the Super Six Challenge. Despite the impressive victories last week, the Wildcats highest meet score of 193.425 (1/7) was not good enough to crack the Top 25. The Wildcats are ranked as a team on two individual events, including No. 25 in the floor exercise (48.625) and No. 19 on the vault (48.775).

The Arizona State Sun Devils are currently ranked No. 7 and will be the fourth Top 10 team the Wildcats have faced this season. Arizona finished fourth behind current No. 4 Alabama, No. 6 Georgia and No. 10 Florida at the Super Six Challenge, and knocked off then No. 6 Michigan State last week at home. The Wildcats have competed or will compete against 11 of the teams in the current Top 25.
