TUCSON - The University of Arizona Wildcats No. 10 men's and No. 13 women's track and field teams will be split among two different meets this weekend. The distance runners will compete Feb. 8-9 at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. The running events are set to start at 4 p.m. PST on Friday and 8 a.m. on Saturday. The jumpers, throwers and sprinters will compete at the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. On Friday, the field events are set to start at 2:15 p.m. MST and the running events will begin at 5:40 p.m.

In Seattle, Arizona will compete against BYU (M: 21, W: NR), California (M: NR, W: 12), Florida (M: 2, W: 7), Oklahoma State (M: 24, W: NR), Oregon (M: 4, W: 5), Stanford (M: 19, W: 16), Texas (M: 11, W: 14) and Washington (M: NR, W: 8).

In Albuquerque, the Wildcats will go against Arizona State (M: 5, W: 17), California (M: NR, W: 12), Kansas State (M: 22, W: NR), Mississippi (M: 18, W: NR), New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona (M: 14, W: NR), Ohio State, Portland State, San Diego State, Stanford (M: 20, W: 16), UCLA, Utah State, Washington State, Wayland Baptist, West Texas A&M and Wyoming.

In the 2013 USTFCCCA week three national poll, the Arizona men are ranked No. 10 and the women are ranked No. 13. Three other Pac-12 schools join the Arizona men in the national poll. Oregon is fourth, Arizona State is fifth and Stanford is 20th.

On the women's side, Arizona is accompanied by five other Pac-12 schools. Oregon is No. 5, Washington is No. 8, California is No. 12, Stanford is No. 16 and Arizona State is No. 17.

At the Husky Classic, sophomore Nicci Corbin, sophomore Kate Penney and freshman Hanna Peterson will compete in the mile. Sophomores Stephanie Bulder, Molly Callahan and Clea Formaz will run the 3,000-meter race. Senior Jen Bergman is making her season debut as the lone Wildcat running the 5K. Lawi Lalang is set to compete in the 800-meter run. Sophomore Sam Macaluso, junior Rory McLeod, and junior Braden Timpe will run the mile. Sophomore Kenji Bierig, freshman Jonas Legernes and freshman Thomas Valente are set to run 3,000 meters.

For the men competing at the Don Kirby Invitational, senior Edgar Rivera-Morales and freshman Jonny Giess will compete in the high jump at 3 p.m. MST. Sophomore Jovon Cunningham and junior Keegan Cooke are set to compete in the long jump at 4:45 p.m. Cunningham will return to compete in the triple jump at 8:45 p.m. Junior Sean Delfani will run the 400-meter sprint at 6:45 p.m. Delfani will return to the track and lead off the 4x400-meter relay, he will be joined by senior Clifton Leake, sophomore Branden Helms and freshman Bernard Dickerson-Quinn.

On the women's side in Albuquerque, senior Taylor Freeman and sophomore Baillie Gibson will compete in the weight throw at 2:30 p.m. Freeman and Gibson will join senior Julie Labonté, junior Alyssa Hasslen and senior Omotayo Talabi in the shot put competition at 7 p.m. Senior Georganne Moline, junior Shapri Romero and junior Shale' Garland will run the 400 meters at 7 p.m. Romero, Garland, junior Tamara Pridgett and junior Germe Poston will compete in the 200-meter dash at 8:40 p.m. Poston will also run the 60-meter dash 6:30 p.m. The quartet of Romero, Garland, Pridgett and Moline will represent Arizona in the 4x400-meter relay at 9:40 p.m.
