EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 44-ranked Arizona women's tennis team captured a victory in their first Pac-10 meet of the spring against No. 60-ranked Oregon, 5-2. The win kept the Wildcats record perfect in dual meets this spring at 4-0. UA freshmen Maja Mlakar and Marie-Pier Pouliot along with sophomore Debbie Larocque each won their fourth consecutive singles match. No. 89-ranked Mlakar tripped up Oregon's Janice Nyland, 6-2, 6-2. No. 54-ranked Larocque earned a victory after dropping the first set to Oregon's Davina Mendiburu, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, while Pouliot topped Oregon's Courtney Nagle, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles, Pouliot teamed with UA senior Laresa Marino to earn Arizona's only doubles win of the meet. The Arizona duo topped Oregon's Mendiburu and Adeline Arnaud, 8-3.
In other singles play Arizona junior Daniela Torres won a three-set match over Oregon's Arnaud, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Wildcat sophomore Perrine Pernin also earned a three-set victory over Oregon's Courney Nagle, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3.
