CORVALLIS, Ore. - The top-ranked Arizona softball team traveled to No. 16 Oregon State on Friday and run-ruled the Beavers in five innings, 9-1. Alicia Hollowell and Wendy Allen combined to pitch the Wildcats' fourth no-hitter of the year, giving Hollowell her 31st win this season without a loss.

Arizona scored a pair of runs in the top of the first when Caitlin Lowe led off with a bunt single, followed by a two-base bunt by Autumn Champion, putting Lowe on third. Allen ripped a double to center, scoring Lowe and Champion to give the Cats a two-run lead.

After Oregon State went scoreless in their half of the first, Arizona scored another three. Allyson Von Liechtenstein and Samantha Quintero drew back-to-back walks to start the inning before the Beavers brought in relief pitcher Ta'Tyana McElroy. Crystal Farley hit a sacrifice bunt single, advancing both runners. Von Liechtenstein scored on an error by the third baseman, and Quintero moved up to third. Farley stole second, followed by a sacrifice bunt by Lowe to score Quintero. With two out, Allen hit her second double in as many innings, scoring Farley from third and giving the Wildcats a five-run cushion.

The Beavers scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the second, when Hollowell walked designated player Brianne McGowan and third baseman Sherina Galvan, then hit centerfielder Natalie Johnson with a pitch to load the bases. McGowan scored on a wild pitch, putting the score at 5-1.

The Cats retaliated in the top of the fourth, with singles by Quintero and Farley. Lowe reached on an error and advanced to second, scoring Quintero on the play. Champion hit a bunt single to third to load the bases. With one out, Mackenzie Vandergeest walked, scoring Farley and leaving the bases juiced for Kristie Fox. Fox hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Lowe and giving the Cats an 8-1 lead.

In the top of the fifth, Farley walked and stole second, then scored on a double to right by Lowe, giving Arizona the final run needed to end the game early.

Sophomore utility player Shelly Schultz is out of action this week and next with a knee injury incurred in the Cats' April 18th game at Cal. Wendy Allen moved to first, leaving the designated player position to Farley.

Arizona will travel to Eugene to take on No. 13 Oregon on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
