Steinberg to Compete in NCAA Tournament

TUCSON, Ariz. ?- Arizona women’s tennis freshman Danielle Steinberg earned at-large bids to compete in the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships May 23-28.

 

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted at the Taube Tennis Center in Stanford, California, following the conclusion of the team championship (May 18-22). Stanford University will serve as host. 

 

No. 37 Steinberg will play as a singles competitor. Steinberg is one of 17 Pac-10 singles players selected to compete in the 64-player tournament. Steinberg garners a 14-6 record, with all six losses coming at the hands of ranked players.

 

In the tournament, all matches will be the best of three sets, with regular scoring and a 12-point tiebreaker at six games.  Draws will be announced at a later date.
