Grado completes USA Diving selection camp

COLUMBUS, Ohio – University of Arizona diver Ben Grado completed competition this week in the USA Diving selection camp held on the campus of Ohio State University. The camp was held in order to choose U.S. divers for three upcoming international competitions: The World Championships in Rome, The Canada Cup and the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix.


In the one-meter springboard dive, Grado turned in scores of 319.15 and 350.40, good for 11th and ninth overall.


For the three-meter springboard dive, Grado had scores of 372.50, 392.15, 319.95 and 400.70. Grado’s highest placing during this event was seventh overall.


The competition closed Wednesday with the platform events. Grado placed 14th with a 281.75 and 12th with 359.95 in two competitions.


Grado and his Arizona teammates continue to prepare for their final dual meet of the season, a home event against rival Arizona State on Saturday, Feb. 14 beginning at 1 p.m.
