Throughout the Arizona Wildcat women's golf season, senior Margarita Ramos will keep a weekly blog about life and golf in the Pac-12. Check back for more updates!

Hola Amigos!

For those of you who read last week's blog, I am glad to announce that we did it!!! We won our home tournament, which places us in history as being just the second season in Arizona golf where both the men and women won their home tournament.

It was amazing! You could feel the positive vibes and the want to win from each and every person on our team! We took advantage of the opportunity that we had and advanced with one step at a time.

One day before the tournament, we had the fortune to play the college amateur with some spectacular people! I was ecstatic when I finished the round. I had the opportunity to play with a couple of members from Vistoso. Three of them were Arizona alumni, and one of them played golf on the team a couple of years back. They truly made me feel like the number one player in the world, and for that I will always be thankful for.

I was fortunate enough to have my parents come up from Mexico and follow me in my LAST home tournament. I am not going to lie, I had mixed emotions going into the tournament. I was happy to know that my parents were here, to see so many Tucson supporters out in the course, and mostly, all of the parents from my teammates but sad because this is the very last time that I will be representing Arizona at home.

Even with all of these emotions, we all managed to stay focus. In fact, four of our girls placed 12th or better. Manon, our new freshman, played her heart out. She won the tournament with an amazing -12. I came in second with -5, Isabelle -2 and Nikki +7.

Even though we started our season on the right foot, we still need to keep working hard in order to achieve all our goals. We are off to Las Vegas for our next tournament on Feb 18.

Wish us luck... you can follow us in
