TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona baseball team, fresh off its first series win over two-time defending Pac-10 champion USC in 10 years, moved up three spots from 20th to 17th in the latest edition of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30 poll.

The Wildcats (21-8, 2-1 Pac-10) also made their first appearance of the season in the Baseball America and ESPN/Sports Weekly top 25 rankings, debuting in the No. 21 and 25 slots, respectively. Arizona has not been ranked by Baseball America since Feb. 28, 2000 and Jan. 24, 2000 in the ESPN Coaches Poll.

The Wildcats will head out onto the road for their first Pac-10 road trip of the season this week. Arizona will travel to Los Angeles for a three-game series with UCLA at Jackie Robinson Stadium this Friday-Sunday. First pitch for the series opener on Friday is set for 7 p.m. Tucson time.
