Three Wildcats Earn All-Pac-10 Volleyball Honors

Walnut Creek, Calif. ?- Junior Dominique Lamb and freshmen Whitney Dosty and Jacy Norton each earned 2006 All-Pacific-10 Conference honors, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday.  Lamb received All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors, Dosty was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman-Team, and Norton earned Pac-10 All-Freshman-Team honorable mention accolades.


Lamb, from Chandler, Ariz., earns All-Pac-10 honorable mention honors for the second-consecutive season.  The 6-foot-1 middle blocker finished second in the Pac-10 in blocks with a 1.55 block per game average, and was sixth in the Pac-10 with a .329 hitting percentage.  She finished the season averaging 2.54 kills per game (277-80-599), which ranked third on the team.


Dosty, a Tucson, Ariz., native, earns Pac-10 All-Freshman-Team honors after an impressive debut season.  The 6-foot-3 outside hitter averaged 3.39 kills per game on the season, second on the team.  Against No. 24 Oregon on Nov. 9, Dosty posted a career-high 29 kills against the Ducks in an upset victory, the highest Wildcat individual mark of the season, as she was the only player to record 20 kills or more in a match.  Dosty finished the year posting 17 kills or more in a team-best five matches.


Norton, from Louisville, Ky., receives Pac-10 All-Freshman-Team honorable mention accolades after anchoring a Wildcat frontline which finished second in the Pac-10 in blocks.  The 6-foot-4 middle blocker finished fifth in the Pac-10 with 1.48 blocks per game, and posted 1.67 kills per game on a .251 hitting percentage.


Arizona finished the 2006 season with a 13-17 overall record, and a 4-14 mark in Pac-10 play.  The Wildcats ended the year winning three of their last five matches and will return 13 letterwinners for next year’s squad.
