2005-06 Season: Was the only junior competing for the Wildcats at the 2006 NCAA Championships as he tallied three national championship relay titles and a total of six All-American honors... Set a new individual school record in the 200 IM after finishing second at the championships (1:44.15), which is also the Arizona (all-time) best time in the event...Also placed seventh in the 200 free (1:35.06)... Received second team All Academic All-Pac-10 Honors... At the 2006 Pac-10 Championships, anchored the first-place 800 free relay while finishing fourth in the 200 IM (1:45.69), fifth in the 100 free (43.60) and seventh in the 200 free (1:36.42)... Also anchored the second-place 400 free relay and swam the third leg of the third-place 200 free relay... Finished third in the 100 back (50.48) against ASU... Against California, was second in the 200 and 400 IM, while anchoring the first-place 200 free relay... Finished second in the 200 IM (1:48.16) and also in the 100 free (44.45) against Stanford... Won the 100 back (51.48) and swam the first leg of the first-place 200 free relay against Washington... won the 200 IM at the 2005 Texas Invitational (1:45.03), while anchoring the first-place 200 free relay and placing fourth in the 100 free (43.43)... Won both the 400 IM and the 200 back against UCSB... Anchored the first-place 400 medley relay and finished second in the 100 free against USC... Won the 100 free, finished second in the 100 back and swam the third leg of the first-place 400 medley relay against Wisconsin.

 

2004-05 Season:  First team All-American... At the 2005 NCAA Championships, anchored the third-place 400 free relay which was also a school record-breaking performance... At the Pac-10 Championships, anchored the second place 400 free relay and swam the third leg of the second-place 800 free relay... Finished third in the 200 IM against ASU (1:53.90) and also in the 200 free... Against SMU and Texas, swam the third leg of the first-place 400 free relay and finished fourth in the 100 free... Finished third in the 200 free (1:39.90) against Stanford... Against Cal, finished second in the 200 free (1:39.38) and swam the third leg of the first-place 400 free relay... Finished second in the 100 free (46.61) against British Colombia... At the 2004 Texas Invitational, placed fifth in the 100 free... Against USC, anchored the first-place 200 free relay and swam the third leg of the first-place 400 free relay... Against Wisconsin, finished third in the 100 free.

 

2003-04 Season: First team All-American in the 400 and 800 free relay...At the NCAA Championships, anchored the third-place 400-meter free relay and the fifth-place 800-meter free relay... Swam the first leg of the second-place 800 free relay at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships... Against Arizona State, contributed to the first-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle (3:20.76)...Anchored the first-place 400 free relay team against Texas. Also finished fifth in the 200 free (1:41.66) and the 50 free (21.49)... Anchored the winning 400 free relay against USC.

 

Prep:  Four-year letterwinner in swimming for Coach Kyle Goodrich at St. Charles Prep in Columbus, Ohio... Eight-time NISCAA All-American... Four-year All-Central District and All-Central Catholic League selection... Was state champion in the 200 free as a senior... Also finished ninth in the 500 free... 2002-03 Central District Male Swimmer of the Year... Suburban News Winter Athlete of the Year... St. Charles Jack Ryan Award for Most Outstanding Athlete... 2002-03 Most Valuable Swimmer... Helped the Cardinals to a runner-up finish at the district meet and a fourth-place finish in the state meet as a senior... Individually, was district champion in both the 200 and 500 free... St. Charles was also runner-up in the Independent Schools for Boys National High School Championship... Set three school records and nine pool records during his time at St. Charles... Also competed for the Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio... Coached by Steve Nye... Set team records in the 200, 400-meter and 500 free... Also team captain in 2002-03.

 

National/ International Competition: Competed at the 2006 summer Senior Nationals where he finished eighth in both the 100 and 200-meter free.

 

 Personal: Born Adam James Ritter on Jan. 14, 1985, in Covington, Ky. ... Son of James Ritter and Susan Flerlage Ritter... Has a younger brother, Kyle, and a younger sister, Erin... Comes from a family of swimmers ?- his father and uncle, Bob Ritter, swam at the University of Cincinnati; his uncle, John Ritter, swam for Miami University (Ohio); another uncle, Ron Flerlage, swam at Eastern Kentucky; and his mother was a high school swimming standout in Kentucky... Major is civil engineering.
