CORVALLIS, OR - Senior guard Leilani Estavan finished with 14 points but Oregon State University's women's basketball team couldn't overcome poor second half shooting and dropped a 65-54 contest to University of Arizona in Saturday's Pacific-10 Conference action.

The Beavers (10-8 overall; 4-5 Pac-10) connected on only 19-percent (5-of-26) of their field goals in the second half, allowing the Wildcats (16-4 overall; 8-1 Pac-10) to erase a 35-31 halftime deficit and garner their first victory in Corvallis in four years.

Arizona used a 23-8 run to open the second half and build a 54-43 cushion with 5:51 on the clock. OSU managed just one field goal in the stretch - when Estavan hit a jumper around the 16-minute mark.

The Wildcats dominated the boards, holding a 50-27 rebounding advantage, including an impressive 26-10 edge on the offensive boards.

Estavan hit three of Oregon State's five second half field goals and finished the game with a 6-for-11 clip from the floor and 2-for-3 mark from 3-point range. No other Beaver player reached double figures in scoring. Shannon Howell added nine points and three steals.

Four Arizona players reached double figures in scoring with Shawntinice Polk's game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds leading the way. Shannon Hobson just missed a double-double with 10 points and eight rebounds, including seven on the offensive glass.

Oregon State built as much as a seven-point lead on two occasions in the opening 20 minutes, including a 35-28 advantage with just under one-minute to play behind an Estavan jumper. The Beavers open the second half of Pac-10 play on the road against the Los Angeles schools. OSU will face USC on Thursday at 7 p.m.
