Tucson, Ariz. ?- Arizona senior women’s tennis player Dianne Hollands has been named to the 2005 Academic All-District VIII University Division Women’s At-Large Team for her excellence in academics and athletics.
Hollands, a native of New Zealand, has accumulated a 3.774 GPA in her four years at Arizona. An English major, Hollands wrapped up her career on the court on Wednesday with a loss in the round of 16 at the NCAA Doubles Championship.
In 2004, Hollands earned All-American honors on the tennis court, while succeeding in the classroom, garnering Pac-10 All-Academic first team honors. Hollands is on track to complete her bachelor’s degree in the next academic year.
Hollands is amongst 21 athletes from 10 schools that made he team. She now advances to the national team ballot, the results of which will be announced on June 14 for the men and June 16 for the women.
