Arizona Returnees Check-In on Tuesday (Video)

TUCSON, Ariz. - The 2010 Arizona football team has officially reported to campus this week as the start of Fall Camp is less than 24 hours away.

While most all returning and incoming players spent the summer on campus enrolled in classes and participating in summer workouts with UA's strength and conditioning staff, Tuesday marked the first of two "reporting" days where newcomers were issued equipment. Today it was the veterans' turn to try on the new gear and receive yearly physical examinations.

Camp will commence on Thursday with the first practice of the season slated for a bright and early 6:15 a.m. start. UA will hold most of its training camp practices at the Rincon Vista Complex, located near the school's soccer and track facilities on 15th Street and Plumer Ave. Arizona's newly renovated Jimenez Practice facility on campus will host its first practice later this month.

The Wildcats will train at Rincon Vista through next Tuesday, before taking a break to finish up summer classes and depart for Fort Huachuca on Wednesday, Aug. 11. A total of four practices are scheduled over the four days on the installation in addition to a public scrimmage that will be held at Buena High School in Sierra Vista on Saturday, Aug. 14.

Camp will return to Tucson the following Monday for the final week of workouts, which will conclude with "Meet the Team" night in Arizona Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 21. From there, the season will be just two weeks away and the Wildcats will shift their focus to game preparations for the season-opener at Toledo on Sept. 3.

Director of Athletics Greg Byrne told local media members on Tuesday morning that the school had already surpassed last year's total of season tickets sold by more than 1,000. School officials expect season and "flex pack" tickets to continue to sell at a brisk pace over the next several weeks. Individual game tickets will go on sale starting Aug. 21.
