TUCSON, Ariz. - Each National Basketball Association season, the University of Arizona men's basketball team is well represented when it comes time for the league's postseason and the 2010-11 year is no different.
This year, Arizona boasts six former players on NBA playoff rosters with three apiece representing the Eastern and Western Conferences, respectively.
The list includes: Gilbert Arenas (Orlando Magic), Mike Bibby (Miami Heat), Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers), Richard Jefferson (San Antonio Spurs), Jason Terry (Dallas Mavericks) and Luke Walton (Los Angeles Lakers).
Recent UA players Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill, both with the Houston Rockets, just missed the postseason in the Western Conference despite having a better overall record than three playoff-bound Eastern Conference teams.
Individually speaking, Walton, with the Lakers, will be trying for his third consecutive NBA championship. UA great Steve Kerr, now an analyst with Turner Broadcasting, has the most rings of any former Wildcat with five playing with the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs.
During the regular season, UA had 11 different players appear on NBA rosters, a mark that ranked sixth nationally.
