????????????TUCSON, Ariz. ?C?Arizona senior cornerback Antoine Cason and former Wildcat Matt Brooks, who started the ˇ®Cason Caresˇ? campaign to raise money for cancer research, will present a check to the American Cancer Society during the UA menˇ?s basketball game against Texas A&M at McKale Center on Sunday, Dec. 2.

?

ˇ?Antoine might be known as All-American athlete around the country but this campaign shows that he is more then just your normal student-athlete,ˇ± says Brooks. ˇ?Antoine and I worked extremely hard and with the help and support of others we have been able to make the ˇ®Cason Caresˇ? campaign a success. We are both thankful for all of the support we have received from the student body and the Tucson community.ˇ±

?

????????????The pair has been selling rubber wristbands for $3 for the past two months to help generate funds for the campaign and honor family members that have been stricken by cancer. Cason lost his grandfather, Royce Rambo, last February to cancer, while Brooks has had a number of family members afflicted with the disease.

?

????????????Cason, an All-America candidate and finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, has put together a solid career on the gridiron for the Wildcats. Including a career-high five interceptions this season, the four-year starter is currently fourth all-time at Arizona with 15 picks. He has scored four touchdowns this season, two on interception returns and two on punt returns, in addition to making 69 tackles and breaking up a team-high 11 passes.

?

????????????While his exploits on the field have generated national headlines, Casonˇ?s efforts in the Tucson community have been impressive as well. A solid contributor to the athletic departmentˇ?s community service arm, he has donated his time to a number local organizations and filmed a public service announcement for the university in addition to starting the ˇ®Cason Caresˇ? campaign with just Brooksˇ? assistance. He was named a semi-finalist for the Ronnie Lott Trophy, which is presented to the senior football player that exhibits both athletic ability and sense of community.

?

????????????Brooks, a native of Miami, Fla., was a walk-on quarterback for the Wildcats during the 2005 season and is currently a senior at Arizona.
