Head Coach Lute Olson Quotes

"This game was hard work for us, but it is a win. A lot of that credit goes to Jay (John), his staff and his players. They played with a lot of poise, and they shot the ball well. It is a good thing for us that they didn't hit free throws, which really killed them."

"Our goal was to try to keep our turnovers and their offensive rebounds in single digits, but we didn't quite get that. Philip Ricci had five of their 10 offensive rebounds. He is the most unsung player in this league. He did a really good job."

"The three freshmen did a really nice job for us tonight. Hassan (Adams) made some great defensive plays, and he had some big-time defensive rebounds. Despite the fact that Andre (Iguodala) fouled too much, he did a really good job. We just would have liked to have been able to give him more minutes. Some of Andre's fouls were the result of trying to make some defensive plays and block shots. Chris Rodgers did a nice job in the first half. He just has to watch it because he gets into trouble when he tries to penetrate too deep."

"We have to get Channing (Frye) the ball more, and he also has to get open more. It's a two-way street, but when he is shooting the ball that well, we have to find him and get him the ball. Channing is doing a much better job in terms of his positioning."

"We have to keep the momentum going. I didn't feel that we were with it mentally, so we have to play a whole lot better on Saturday. It should be fun since it is senior day, but we also have to focus on playing the way that we are capable of against Oregon."

Arizona Player Quotes

Sophomore Channing Frye:
"My teammates were getting the ball to me in open spots. But I'm not really happy with this game tonight. We need to work on being a team."

"I'm just going out there and trying to play hard. I had to be an offensive force. When I'm aggressive on the boards, it helps me on the offensive end. I know that in every game I'm not going to get 24 (points) and 12 (rebounds), but I've always got to play hard. I always try hard to be an offensive threat and things are just clicking right now."

"I've got to be a leader. For next year, I need to work on being more vocal instead of just sitting back and letting Luke (Walton), Ricky (Anderson) and Jason (Gardner) lead."

Senior Jason Gardner:
"I think it was a bit of a letdown tonight, we were not moving the ball well. But we've got a game Saturday and we've got to put this behind us. I think a lot of guys came out and thought it was going to be easy. We know how Coach Jay (John) coaches and we knew that they were going to be ready."

"He (Channing Frye) had a great performance. That is key for us to do well in the tournament. Channing has such a good presence inside."

"The biggest thing is that we have to understand that whoever is out on the floor is going to try hard to beat us, so we've got to try as hard to beat them."

"(Saturday) is our last game here. The families are here. I'm going to miss the crowd. It's going to be kind of a sad game, but tonight I'm just going to enjoy the family."

Freshman Hassan Adams:
"It was just one of those nights. I was just trying to get my teammates going. We wanted to come out and play our game, but it was tough because shots just weren't going. But you just keep playing and shots are going to eventually."

"I'm ready for that game. Oregon has been playing well all year long, that is going to be a good game."

"I'm just going out there and playing hard. Coach Olson is giving me the opportunity to get out there and play hard. I'm just going to keep bringing energy to the floor."

"It was hard because they wanted to slow it down and run their stuff. But we had to play hard on defense and try to get in the passing lanes."
