Young Headlines All-Academic Cats

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Seven student-athletes from the Arizona football team have been recognized by the Pacific-10 Conference and placed on the league's All-Academic Team, headlined by linebacker R.J. Young.

Young, a redshirt freshman from DeSoto, Texas, has been a key performer for the Wildcats on special teams and as a backup linebacker behind three starting seniors at the position. Young carries a 3.40 grade point average as a pre-journalism major, and for his efforts received recognition on the All-Academic Second Team.

Six Wildcats joined Young as they were honored on the All-Academic Honorable Mention team. Quarterback Nick Foles, TE/HB Chris Gronkowski, NB Corey Hall, WR David Roberts TE A.J. Simmons and kicker John Bonano each were recognized for their academic work in addition to their on-field performance.
