Arizona Swimming in Fourth Place After Day One of Pac-10 Championships

Final Stats

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona women's swimming team is in fourth place with 297 points after the first day of the Pac-10 Championships. Stanford is currently in first place with 442 points followed by California (366) and Southern California (365.5). Rounding out the top five are the defending Pac-10 Champions, the UCLA Bruins with 259 points.

Wildcat freshman Emily Mason won the 500y free with a time of 4:38.79, which is also a new meet record.

The Arizona 200y free relay team placed third with the time of 1:31.77. The relay team consisted of senior All-Americans Jenny Vanker and Sarah Tolar along with freshman Jessica Hayes and sophomore Kristen Brennan.

The meet will resume tomorrow at with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
