On the win against California: "Our game Saturday was the best total game that we have played all year. We made some big plays in every area, and we were not without errors, but that's true every week of everybody. The team was alert and ready to play. They felt that way during the week for a couple of reasons. One, we have been improving even though we lost a couple of games while we were improving. Two, they could realistically look at themselves and compare themselves to the Cal Bears and feel like we could compete with them and do very well. They may have even surprised themselves by going out and getting it all done and having a commanding 38-3 lead in the third quarter."

"We made progress and we are continuing to make progress, and that's the key factor. November is the month that is the most critical. We are playing for an undefeated November, and we need to have that happen in order for us to become bowl eligible. If we can win the last two games, we also have to prove to the bowl people that we are a worthy team, and that we can go out and play terrific football."

On this week's opponent - Stanford: "We are facing a tall order this week playing Stanford. Stanford is very tough against the run. They are No. 1 in the Pac-10 in rushing defense, so that means it is going to be tough sledding. I'm not predicting an aerial war, but to win the game, you do what you have to do. They are a very physical, strong team, and opposing teams have had a difficult time running against them. They haven't had many low-scoring games this year. They are a very well-coached team that plays very hard, and I like the way they do things."

On the Arizona seniors' final home game: "This is a game they will remember forever. It doesn't matter what the score is or how the season turns out. The last game in the stadium is the game that the seniors will always remember, and there is no better way than to be able to win the game. It's always significant. They don't really think about it very much, but all of a sudden they realize that this is the last time they will walk over there."

"The seniors have done extremely well individually, and they have played a lot. I know that they really look forward to an opportunity to get to another game and finish the season and their career in a good fashion."

On Arizona's outlook for its last two games: "On offense, we have to run and pass the ball better. On defense, we have to stop the pass better and stop the run better. We have to do everything better because there is no part of our team that is set. You are either getting better or worse each week, but you are never staying the same, so we have to continue to improve in every area."
