Hello, this is Shannon Hobson, #50, giving you the update on the status of the Arizona Women’s basketball team.  Things are going well as we are conditioning and polishing our skills for this coming season.  We expect a great deal from ourselves this season.  We showed a snippet of what we could do last year, but we are ready to come out and achieve even more!

As of now, the team is lifting and conditioning with our physical trainer, Neil Rampe, getting stronger, so we can be more physical and dominant on the court. We know all of our hard work is going to pay off and make us a better team! J  Last week we took our team poster picture, so we are excited to see how that comes out.  I don’t know how you all feel, but I really liked last year’s poster, so we will see... I’m sure it will be good.

As for me, I am working trying to get back into shape.  I have been recovering from last season all summer, so the trainers pulled me out of most activity, but I am so excited to be running and working out with the team again.  These are a bunch of special ladies, who are so awesome just to know and play with! And, as for all of us, I am trying to take care of business in the classroom; trying to study hard to get those good grades we want.  Oh, speaking of grades and basketball, tonight, all of the athletes have to go and listen to a speaker, who will be talking about taking care of your body and some of the troubles that athletes go through, and how to get through them; so that should be informative and helpful.

I am so excited because my nephew, Duran, just turned 1 this past week and had his first birthday party!  My mom sent me pictures and he was sooooo cute! Gotta love the family!  Okay, so I am supposed to tell you about me, but I have the coolest family.  So, I’ll be quick.  My little sister, Asha, who is 12, is playing softball right now for her junior high school; and if I may say so myself, she is a pretty good pitcher, these colleges should look out! J I have two cute little nieces that live in California with my older sisters and their husbands.  It was so exciting this August because my oldest sister, Shonie, got married!  In closing, I look forward to seeing all of you Arizona fans at our games this year.  We appreciate all of your support!  Until next time, God Bless and Take care!!!
