TUCSON, Ariz. -
Head coach Vicky Maes and the No. 28 Arizona women’s tennis team (12-6, 2-3) will take on two top-five teams in Los Angeles this weekend when it faces No. 4 USC (16-2, 5-0) on Friday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. and No. 1 UCLA (18-0, 5-0) on Saturday, April 7 at noon.
The Wildcats are coming off two losses at No. 9 California and No. 6 Stanford last weekend.
USC is 15-2 on the year, with its lone two losses coming to UCLA, both in the non-conference season.
The Trojans boast four singles players ranked in the top 76, with Zoe Scandalis ranked No. 15, Danielle Lao at No. 22, Sabrina Santamaria at No. 36 and Kaitlyn Christian at No. 76.
In addition, Christian and Santamaria pair up for the nation’s No. 2-ranked doubles team and Scandalis and Pulido are ranked No. 52.
UCLA comes in to the match undefeated, including wins over No. 3 Duke and USC. The Bruins boast seven players in the top 116, with Robin Anderson coming in at No. 6. Chanelle Van Nguyen is ranked No. 84, Pamela Montez No. 87, Courtney Dolehide No. 97, Kaitlyn Ray No. 103, McCall Jones No. 105 and Skylar Morton No. 116.
UCLA also has two doubles teams in the top 11, as Montez and Dolehide pair up for the No. 9-ranked team and Anderson and Morton are No. 11.
