JayDee Luster, the 2012 Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year, is in his second season as a member of the Wildcat staff after joining as a graduate manager in August 2012.

Luster’s role includes aiding the coaching staff in individual and team workouts, in addition to various operational and video duties while he pursues a graduate degree.

A three-year starter as a point guard at the University of Wyoming, Luster was the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and an honorable mention all-league selection as a senior. He guided the Cowboys to a 21-12 record and a CBI berth in his final season, ranking 32nd nationally with a 2.35 assist-to-turnover ratio.

In three seasons at Wyoming, Luster averaged 5.6 points and 3.8 assists in 90 appearances. He capped his career ranked eighth on UW’s all-time assists chart with 344. He played the 2007-08 season at New Mexico State.

A native of San Diego, Luster earned degrees in social science and criminal justice from Wyoming in 2012.
