Russ Bertram
Position: Aquatics Director/6th Year at Arizona

Russ Bertram is in his sixth year as the aquatics director for the University of Arizona. In that position, he is responsible for the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center's day-to-day operation. Bertram also oversaw of the multi-million dollar renovation and addition of the Kasser Family Pool.

A five-time national champion as a diver, Bertram served as the national events director for USA Diving from 2001-04 and for eight years has been on the USA Diving board of directors. He served as a team administrator for USA Diving during the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games.

Recently, Bertram, along with diving coach Michele Mitchell, were key to successfully hosting the 2010 U.S. junior Nationals as well as the 2010 World Championships at the Kasser Family Pool in Tucson, Ariz. In September, he was awarded the Phil Boggs award by USA Diving, which honors those who have achieved individual excellence in diving and have given back a part of themselves to assure the sport's continuation and success.

Bertram was a 2008 U.S. Diving Olympic Trials judge, one of seven judges selected by USA Diving after a national search. Qualified judges must be certified through FINA, the sport's international governing body, and have international experience as a diving judge. Judges were then ranked by peers and the nation's elite-level diving coaches.

A native of Indianapolis, Bertram graduated from Indiana University in 1989.
