Memorable swim moment: It is always fun to think about my freshmen year. Coach Rick "Rocket" DeMont has an annual tradition about a week before NCAA's where he brings out a big white board and tells us what times we will swim the following week at the NCAA championships. Notice I say "tells us," he doesn't predict, he just knows. My freshmen year he started off going event by event swimmer by swimmer writing down all of the times he felt we would go. He got to me and predicted I would split a 19.20 on the 4x50 free relay. At that time my best from a flat start was probably about a 20 point low. I remember thinking, "I wish!" But as the meet went on I noticed 99% of the times Rocket wrote down on that white board were becoming reality, this really got me pumped to keep the streak going and low and behold when it was my turn to swim I split a 19.20. The kind of sixth sense of the coaches at Arizona is amazing, they are constantly watching and adapting to our swimming and know exactly what we are capable of, whether we know it or not.

Why Arizona is so special?: The University of Arizona Swimming Team experience is so unforgettable because of the coaching staff, support staff, and of course my teammates from the past, present and future. Basically what it comes down to is the Arizona swimming family. The team truly is a close family sharing all the good times and the bad times but always sticking together.
