Josh Says: The best part about Arizona is our team unity and collective desire to succeed. In a sport that requires so much devotion and hard work, it is extremely motivating to know that each team member is striving for the same goal. Whether it be our morning running sessions, a workout in the weight room, or a hard set in the pool, the team is constantly and actively encouraging, which allows each member to realize his or her fullest potential.

Best Memory: My most memorable team moment came during the 2008 NCAA Championships when we won the 400 Freestyle Relay. Our entire team was standing on the bleachers lining the side of the pool to cheer on the relay members during the final event of the meet. As Joel Greenshields swam the final leg to overtake the Auburn swimmer, I remember my teammates and I jumping so hard on the bleachers that the bench almost snapped off.

Why Arizona?: I decided to swim at the University of Arizona based on the team atmosphere and the devotion to detail by the coaching staff. Unlike many teams, the men and women practice together which provides for a unique environment in which we are dependent upon each other for motivation and support. The coaches also cater well to the personalities and diverse backgrounds of each individual in order to maximize his or her potential. I would not trade training in Tucson for anything, because there is nothing like swimming outdoors, whether it be the middle of summer or the dead of winter.
