Participated in the 2001 Pac-10 Championships in Long Beach, Calif. where he touched the wall at 2:00.54 in the 200 breast making him the fastest Wildcat swimmer in the event for the 2000-01 season... A member of the fourth-place 400 medley relay team at the 2001 Pac-10 Championships.

PREP: South African national age group record holder for boys 18 years old in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:03:86... 2000: At South African Senior Nationals, won a silver medal in the 200 breast with a time of 2:17:69...
