C.A.T.S. LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM - HOME

The University of Arizona's award winning C.A.T.S. Program (Commitment to an Athlete's Total Success) is a comprehensive support services program designed to assist student athletes based on individual needs, and to assist in developing the life skills needed over time to lead a healthy, positive and productive life following graduation.

Arizona is extremely proud to have been honored as one of the first recipients of the Division 1A Athletics Directors' Program of Excellence. A "Program of Excellence" is a lifetime award designed to recognize Division 1A athletics programs that have established student-athlete welfare as the cornerstone of their operating principles. At Arizona it is a philosophy as much as it is a comprehensive support services program: Arizona is indeed commitment to their student athletes' TOTAL success. Creative, innovative and effective programming over time has also allowed Arizona to continue to be used as a model for other programs.

The 4 unique areas of The C.A.T.S. Program are:
  • C.A.T.S. Academics
  • C.A.T.S. Life Skills
  • C.A.T.S. Strength and Conditioning
  • C.A.T.S. Medical Services
The C.A.T.S. Program boasts four NCAA Woman of the Year award winners, the most of any school in the country, in addition to a Walter Byers Scholarship recipient. These are awards given to one student-athlete in the entire country.
