At the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round, Arizona added seven additional entries to the program's total for the finals in Eugene.
The No. 22 men's and No. 6 women's track and fields will compete in the NCAA Championships West Preliminary Round on May 23-25.
The No. 5 women's track and field earned a runner-up finish at the Pac-12 Championships while the men finished in seventh place.
The Pac-12 Championships will take place on May 11-12 at USC's Cromwell Field and Katherine B. Loker Stadium.
The No. 22 men's and No. 6 women's track and field teams will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.
2012: Indoors, Moronta clocked a personal-best time of 6.97 in the 60-meter dash at the NAU Open, good for eighth place ... He also posted a personal-best time of 22.60 in the 200-meter sprint at the NAU Open, taking 12th place ... Outdoors, Moronta clocked a personal-best time of 10.83 in the 100 meters, taking sixth place at the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual ... At the Pac-12 Championships, Moronta took 26th place with a time of 11.05 ... In the 200-meter dash at the Jim Click Shootout, Moronta's time of 22.56 was a personal best and good for 13th place ... At the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual, the quartet of Moronta, Chris McSwain, Garic Wharton and Sean Delfani clocked a season-best time of 40.11 in the 4x100-meter relay, good for first place ... At the Pac-12 Championships, Moronta, McSwain, Wharton and Clifton Leake took fifth place, clocking a time of 40.77.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Higley High School, Moronta was the team captain and MVP his senior year ... He was the Arizona 3A State Champion in the 100 and 200 meters his senior year.
