T&F Women Take Second At Pac-12 Championshps

The No. 5 women's track and field earned a runner-up finish at the Pac-12 Championships while the men finished in seventh place.

ARIZONA

2008: During the 2008 season, McCoy competed for the first time as a pure track athlete after leaving the football team ... The season saw some of his best performances yet, highlighted by his fourth place and All-American finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 400-meter dash ... Ran an all-time best time in the event of 45.31 at the Pacific-10 Conference Championships during the outdoor season where he finished in fourth place ... That mark is the all-time best at Arizona in the event ...Earned All-West Region honors in the 400m as well ... McCoy also ran a hand-timed 44.6 split in the men's 4 x 400-meter relay at the UA-ASU-NAU Double Dual to lead the team to an improbably come-from-behind victory over ASU in the event ... Was a member of the 4 x 100-meter relay team as well and helped to lead them to the National Championships for the second year in a row ... The team of McCoy, Marcus Tyus, Xuehan Xiong and Kyle Alston ran a season's best of 39.52...Ran a personal best time of 20.82 in the 200-meter dash and earned All-Conference Honors in the event...Named as a team captain for the 2009 campaign2007:McCoy played football for Arizona during the fall of 2006, and joined track and field after the spring football season. McCoy qualified for the NCAA championships in the 200m with his mark of 21.05 at the NCAA West Regional. 2006: McCoy competed for the University of Arizona football team as a wide receiver during the fall 2005 season. He competed in two games and had one catch for five yards. Outdoors, McCoy proved to be the Wildcats top 200-meter runner and also competed as a member of the team's 4x100-meter relay team...Helped the team to a season's best time of 39.89, and a fourth place finish at the Pac-10 Championships... He also placed fifth in the 200 meters at Pac-10s (20.94), and followed that up with a eighth-place finish at the West Region Championships in the same event. 2005: Arizona school record holder for a freshman in the 60-meters with a time of 6.84...Season's best time of 21.33 in the 200-meter and 47.12 in the 400-meters...Both of those times were the best on the team during that season. During indoor season he won the MPSF Championship in the 200m with a time of 21.47...Placed 11th at the Pac-10 championships in the 400m running a time of 47.12...Also ran in the 4x100m relay, where best time of the season was 40.51 (Heard, Hunter, Ramirez, McCoy).
