Matt Couvillion returns for his second season on the Arizona women's basketball staff as a graduate assistant.
His primary responsibility with the 'Cats will be as the video coordinator, handling all aspects of film exchange and breakdown while also coordinating practice players. He is also a graduate student studying Educational Psychology.
Couvillion joins the Wildcats after spendingthe 2007-08season as an assistant coach for the men's program at Loyola University in New Orleans. He was responsible for on-court coaching, film exchange, video breakdown, apparel ordering and distribution. His efforts helped the Wolfpack to its best season since 1991.
For three seasons prior to going to New Orleans, Couvillion was a student manager with the Louisiana State women's program. He assisted the coaching staff in the organization and set-up of practice, clock management, equipment management and interaction with the Booster Club.
Couvillion also has experience coaching in the YMCA youth basketball and Big Buddy programs in Baton Rouge. He coordinated both flag football and basketball schedules for inner city youth teams while also coaching a team in each program.
A native of Plaucheville, La., Couvillion is a 2007 graduate of LSU, earning his degree in kinesiology with a concentration in health and physical science.
