2002-03 Season: Second team Academic All-Pac-10... All-American in both the 400 medley relay and the 800 free relay... Honorable mention All-American in the 200 back, 200 free relay and 400 free relay... Finished 12th in the 200 back (1:57.91) at the 2003 NCAA Championships... Also part of the sixth-place 800 free relay and the seventh-place 400 medley relay... Anchored the 400 medley relay... At the 2003 Pac-10 Championships, was sixth in the 200 back (1:58.69) and eighth in the 50 free (23.55)... Led the Wildcats to victory over Arizona State with a win in the 200 free (1:49.84)... In a dominant weekend against Stanford and California, swept the 100 and 200 free on both days... Was responsible for four victories against Northern Arizona, two individually in the 100 and 200 free, and two as the anchor leg in the 200 free and medley relays... Garnered six NCAA consideration times during the 2002 Texas Invitational alone... Mary Roby Academic Achievement Award winner...

2001-02 Season: Swam for the 2002 NCAA Champion 800 free relay team that touched the wall in 7:05.10, setting a new school record... Also earned All-America honors as a member of the third-place 400 free relay and the fifth-place 200 free relay... At 2002 Pac-10 Championships, was part of the champion 800 free relay and the third-place 200 free relay... Individually, was sixth in the 200 back (1:57.46), eighth in the 200 IM (2:01.79) and 11th in the 200 free (1:48.70)... Against Texas, was a member of the champion 400 free relay... Placed first in 400 free relay and 200 back against California... Against USC, Hayes finished second in the 200 back and was part of the winning 400 free relay...

National & International Competition -- 2001: Participated at Senior Nationals in the 100 and 200 back and the 100 and 200 free... In the 100 back touched at 1:03.71 and in the 200 back at 2:15.5, placing fourth and qualifying in for the World University Games... 2000: Competed in the Olympic Trials in six events, the 50, 100, 200 and 400 free and the 100 and 200 back... Placed 15th in the 200 back and 22nd in the 200 free (2:03.3)...
