Why Arizona?: I dreamed of diving for Coach Mitchell ever since I was a young diver. When I was a member of the Tucson Diving Team, I would try to get to practice early enough to see the college divers work out. They were my diving heroes and I wanted to be just like them. This dream even intensified when my sister Toni became a Wildcat diver. My dream became a reality last year.As Michele had always instilled in me, I learned that hard work eventually pays off. This is one of the reasons the UA seemed the right place for me.
Bestthing about Arizona: Michele values a good work ethic over just raw talent. I appreciate that and hope to live up to it. The first time I walked into the weight room at the UA, I was amazed to see on the wall just that sentiment; in big red letters it states "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard." That is what I try to keep in mind everyday at practice.
Favorite Book: The Little Prince. I always wanted to live on Asteroid B-612.
Favorite Movie: The Princess Bride
Favorite Quote: "And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed)" - Dr. Seuss
Favorite Place to Visit: I love visiting my grandparents in Germany. It is great to experience the difference in these cultures, both of which I have grown up with.
Favorite Season: The monsoon season is my favorite time of the year. I love the smell of the Creosote when it rains.
If you could choose any location in the world to swim/dive, where would it be?: I've dived in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, California, Oregon, Florida, Utah, Wyoming, Canada, and Germany. Every experience was new and exiting, but this year, I most of all look forward to diving our new "state of the art" diving well. After all, it's been in the works since before I first started with the Tucson Diving Team.
