Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day at the UA

The University of Arizona Athletics Department and the UA Hispanic Alumni are proud to present Hispanic Heritage Day at the University of Arizona. Honorary Captain and Arizona Softball Letterwinner Danielle Rodriguez invites you to come celebrate on Saturday, October 19, 2013 during the Arizona vs. Utah football game.


Mariachi Arizona de University of Arizona and other local Folklorico groups will perform with the Pride of Arizona during half-time. In addition the winners of the Hispanic Heritage Day art contest will be recognized at halftime and their art work will be displayed on the videoboard.


Art Contest:
KVOA and La Caliente have teamed up with The University of Arizona to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day. Students are asked to illustrate what the Hispanic/Latino culture means to them by participating in our Hispanic Heritage Day Art Contest. There are fourcategories for grades:         K-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th, and 9th-12th and a winner will be chosen from each. You must enter original artwork and any medium may be with the exception of photos. All entries must be 11" X 14".

The contest theme is: When you hear the phrase, "Hispanic Culture," what does that mean to you?
