TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona's men's golf team heads to Los Angeles, Calif., April 29-May 1, to compete in the 54th Annual Pac-12 Championships. The tournament will be held at the Los Angeles Country Club, a par-70, 7,236-yard course. Four rounds will be played over the duration of the tournament to determine the Pac-12 champion.
The event will begin on Monday Apr. 29 with first-round tee times starting at 8 a.m. PDT, and the second round following at 1 p.m. the same day. Third-round tee times are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, with the final round slated for Wednesday at 8 a.m. as well. The Wildcats are paired with players from California and Washington for the first two rounds.
Seven of the 12 teams in the conference are ranked in the top 50 of the current Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index, including No. 1 California, No. 8 Stanford, No. 5 UCLA and No 11 USC.
Arizona's lineup includes Trent Redfern, Juan Pablo Hernandez, Alex McMahon, Brenden Redfern, and Benson Liu. The five lowest scores of the six available from each team will determine the total score from each round.
Last year at the Pac-12 Championships, the California defeated the Oregon Ducks in extra holes to take the Pac-12 crown in Corvallis, Ore. Stanford's Andrew Yun earned the individual title by posting a 13-under 275 for the tournament. Arizona finished in tenth place as a team with a score of 1,493 at least year's championship event. Erik Oja was the Wildcats' lowest scorer, posting an even-par 288, to finish in 16th place.
