Eugene, Ore. - The University of Arizona Wildcat No. 22 men's and No. 6 women's track and field teams had 14 student-athletes earn Pac-12 All-Academic accolades. The honorees were announced by conference on Wednesday.
Senior Edgar Rivera-Morales were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic first team. McLeod is majoring in finance and boasts a 3.83 GPA. Rivera-Morales, who is also a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, earned his degree in industrial engineering with a GPA of 3.58.
On the Pac-12 All-Academic second team, sophomores Sam Macaluso and Lezo Urreiztieta were honored. Macaluso is pursuing a degree in management information systems and has a GPA of 3.57. Urreiztieta is pursuing a degree in physiology and has a 3.62 GPA.
On the women's side, sophomore Stephanie Bulder and junior Erin Menefee were Pac-12 All-Academic first-team honorees. Bulder boasts a 3.93 GPA and is pursuing a degree in molecular and cellular biology. Menefee majors in nutritional sciences and has a GPA of 3.96.
Senior Alyssa Hasslen is a member of the Pac-12 All-Academic second team. She is majoring in family studies and human development and has a GPA of 3.80. Junior Tamara Pridgett is also on the second team has a 3.76 GPA as a communication major.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
