TUCSON, Ariz. – University of Arizona women’s soccer goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman is the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Tuesday.
In the Wildcats’ home opener, Kaufman led Arizona to a 6-0 shutout against UC Riverside on Friday. Kaufman recorded three saves in the six shots she faced. The Arizona defense battled No. 24 Ohio State to a double overtime 0-0 tie on Sunday in Columbus, paced by Kaufman and her seven saves of the 16 shots she faced.
Arizona is one of eight Pac-12 teams that remain undefeated. The Wildcats are second in the league in shots with 69 total and 17.0 per game and No. 2 in points with 30 total and 7.5 per game. Kaufman ranks No. 2 among league keepers in save percentage with a .882. She’s also second in saves with 15 total and 3.75 per game.
The Wildcats head to Tempe, Ariz. to compete in the Sun Devil Classic, Sept. 6-8.
